Handmade products reflect more than a lifestyle, and Florence is an example of this, thanks to the great artists who have marked history. Therefore, if in the previous post we talked about Florentine cooking, today we want to dedicate our post to the artisans and their products.

If you walk through the historic centre of Florence and you lose yourself, you will find several shops of handmade products. For example, near the Duomo the Salumeria Pegna is all a referent that know-how. From sausages to pasta, you will find a wide variety of products.
In Via Martelli, you will find an Eataly of two floors. There you will enjoy a great assortment of local products and brands. In addition, they have a terrace directly in front where you can taste in the moment all the products that you buy there.
If you like sweets, a few meters away Scudieri, Migone and Gilli await you. They are three of the most celebrated patisseries of the city and its specialty: candies and chocolates. In addition, they have the cute candy boxes as a souvenir.
On the other hand, between the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria, Venchi offers a great variety of chocolates.

We also find artisan workshops. In this sense, you cannot miss the Signum store, a bookstore where you can find handmade objects. Prints, postcards, calendars, notepads, …. And also, printed in Florence. Another workshop dedicated to illustrations and drawings is Il Papiro. They have several shops.
Another iconic business in the capital is jewellery, the Ponte Vecchio will surprise you. The small workshops and multinational stores coexist to offer jewels to neighbours and tourists.
We finish the post with another craftsman: the Agostino Dessì. In his workshop he realizes Venetian masks by hand.
