If you are foodies and want to enjoy a good salad caprese, a spaghetti carbonara, a pizza procciuto and a gelatto, you cannot miss the gastronomic offer of Florence, in Italy. We recommend a list of the best pizza, restaurants and ice cream to enjoy the best Tuscan cuisine.
Eat in Florence: our foodies recomendation
Mercato Centrale ( Via dell’Ariento)
SiIf you want a different gastronomic experience, you have to go to the Central Market, where you will find a wide variety of options to eat and snack at a good price: pizza, fresh pasta, paninins and foccacias, hamburgers, steaks and dessert. It is open every day from 10.00 until 00.01 (yes, until midnight and one minute).
With an original decoration, we recommend to eat a foccaccia of pesto, procciuto and cheese. Delicious!
Mangia Pizza (Via Lambertesca, 24/26R)
One of the best pizzeria in Florence is the Mangia Pizza. A beautiful place with only four tables. Which is his speciality? Rectangular pizzas made with best ingredients of the region: Pistoia flour (42 km from Florence), burrata, local tomato, … We recommend tomato pizza, buffalo mozarella and procciuto, but especially to take away and eating it in the Uffici square, next to Michelangelo, Dante and Leonardo. A Florence experience that a foodie can’t miss.
I’Pizzacchiere (Via S. Miniato, 2)
To eat an authentic pizza in an authentic Italian local, I’Pizzacchiere is the best option. Book a table before because it is a very small place (you can book through its website). You can’t miss the peperoni pizza with spicy n’duja or the traditional margarita pizza to taste the mozzarela and basil. The kindness of the staff and the simplicity of the place will make you feel like real Florentines.
Simbiosi (via De’ Ginori 56R)
The Simbiosi pizzeria is known by pizzas made with ecological products. As a difference, their specialty is vegetarian pizzas and handmade desserts. It has a very original decoration and a large stone oven. There are always lot of people, so if you want to enjoy your pizza, you must be patient or take away.
Trattoria ZaZa (Piazza del Mercato Centrale 26R)
In the Florence guide for foodies you could not miss a trattoria. And the best option is the centennial Trattoria ZaZa. In a cosy place away from the tourist, you will find several ZaZa spaces: terrace, main dining room (with an old circus decoration) and lower floor. Each one has its own style. To enjoy 100%, we recommend any of their fresh pasta, such as spaghetti carbonara or pesto parpalles. And if you liked what you have eaten, at the exit you can buy the recipe book and the ingredients that have been used. A perfect business.
Ice cream shop Don Nino (Piazza del Duomo, 11)
Don Nino Ice Cream Shop is one of the most chic ice cream shop in Florence. Located in Piazza Duomo, it is a temptation for neighbours, curious and tourists queuing to enter the cathedral. Don Nino offers a wide variety of flavours, with a super creamy texture and an exquisite presentation.
Ice cream shop La Strega Nocciola (Via de’ Bardi, 51/53R)
Finally, in the Florence guide for foodies we present you the artisan ice-cream shop La Strega Nocciola, the most welcoming in Florence, located on the other side of the Ponte Vecchio. It is a small place but very well decorated, with seasoned ice cream, creamy and delicious. You will enjoy the best views of Florence across the river Arno with this wonderful ice cream.
And that’s all for today. Here some photos of these places 😉
