To finish the year, what better than a Christmas dessert? Today we bring you a simple but delicious recipe. It is a chocolate cake with cream of chestnuts. Are you ready?
Christmas dessert: chocolate cake with chestnut cream
For these holidays, how about a delicious chocolate cake with chestnut cream? On our getaway to France we have discovered this fabulous cream. It will give us a unique and special touch, besides giving it a creamy point. But if you do not have, nothing happens, any rich jam or applesauce will look good 🙂
Ingredients you need for this Christmas dessert:
- 150 g of dark chocolate to melt
- 110g butter
- 100g icing sugar
- 50g of wheat flour
- 20g cocoa powder
- 5 eggs (separate the egg whites from the yolks)
- 3 tablespoons chestnut cream
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Preparation:
First, melt the chocolate with the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Then we remove it from time to time. Once the mixture is discarded, extinguish the fire before it melts completely. Continue stirring to make it homogeneous and incorporate the cream of chestnuts.
The next step is to mix flour, cocoa powder and yeast. Then add the chocolate and mix. You will see that it is picking up texture.
On the other hand, we beat egg whites, while we add the icing sugar. Next, add the yolks, mix and then add the chocolate mixture.
This done, we put butter on the mold and we floured it. We put to preheat the oven to 180º about 10 minutes. Then we bake the cake for 45-50 minutes. After this time, we punch with a knife to check the degree of cooking. If the knife comes out clean, it’s ready.
We will only have to wait until it is completely cold to demold and sprinkle with cocoa on top.
¡Bon appétit!
